1928 Peace Dollar

One of the key Peace Dollars in any collection is the 1928 Philadelphia. While the San Francisco mint produced 1,632,000 coins Philadelphia produced only 360,649 coins. Legend has it that the 1928 Peace Dollar was minted for use in building cornerstones. Not true but it's a nice legend. The 1928-S is commonly available and fairly inexpensive, however, the 1928 from Philadelphia seems to increase in price daily. My recommendation would be to acquire a Philadelphia mint 1928 early on in your Peace Dollar collection.
